Community spirit is at the heart of Bek and Harry's wedding. After being diagnosed with breast cancer Bek and Harry decided to push their November wedding forward and get married before Bek underwent surgery.
So they had a whole 36 hours to pull it all together. This meant that most of their family and friends couldn't be there. It wasn't quite the wedding they had in mind but both were blown away by the Darwin community's generosity. Not only did I volunteer my services but so did a cake maker, florist and hotel. Once Bek's boss heard the news she also arranged for Bek's hair to be styled and had a platter of food delivered to keep her energy up. The NT News and the ABC radio also came along to interview them.
Despite the turmoil that would have been going through both Bek and Harry's minds it was a beautiful day that I got to document.
